fashionable voices

One can easily claim that fashion and music connects. Nevertheless, when one is asked the correlation between music and fashion, one cannot easily provide an answer.

Both are known to be the most popular forms of art. Both are involved in everyday life. Both are recognized to be the easiest ways to express personality. Music taste. Fashion taste. I've never heard anything quite like movie taste or painting taste.

Fashion is highest contemplation which one's vision can experience while music is for his/her hearing.

Speaking of which, while vocal has always been my favourite music instrument, these three vocalists have as well always been the most fashionable and stylish male vocalists I've ever remembered.

---------------Adam Mitchel Lambert---------------

Adam Lambert has frequentlty been spotted wearing designer items. He is also a male god of eyeliners and boots. I personally would describe Adam's style as bold, brave, and so into glamorous rock image. He as well has futuristic edgy items designed for him. Moroever, you  might agree with me if I say there's a measure of male femininity in his style and that he tries to embrace an image of non-mainstream pop culture.

Ultimately, the picture below shows him wearing his most famous signature coat designed by the British Gareth Pugh.

"You know what, I have nothing to hide, I am who I am and this is about singing. Nothing else."

“I want to be a role model for maybe that kid that feels he’s a little weird or she’s a little weird. The kid in school that doesn’t quite fit the mold, someone that wants to be different.”

"I am theatrical. In the current pop scene, lots of performers are going in that direction, more theatrical in appearance, in camp value. So I don’t consider it derogatory at all."

"Tell a stranger that they're beautiful, so all you feel is love."

---------------Christofer Drew Ingle---------------

His signature barefeet with tattoos

He'd wear Steven Madden Francoo's leather shoes occasionally

Christofer is known for his indie act Never Shout Never. American young people acknowledge him as an inspiring hippie musician who lives free and lovingly. For me, his style is independent, carefree, hippie indeed, bohemian in some times, folksy edgy, into tribal patterns and items, and strongly sweet.

"I am I, you are you, we are we."

"If I had a dime for every apology that was never said, I'd be a rich man."

"I just want to stand up for artistry because that's what really matters in music."

“The past is bullshit. The future’s bullshit. Right now is fucking awesome.”

"People could put aside their believes & opinions then we could all agree that if we all just live with love. That's the true religion."

---------------Farrokh Bulsara a.k.a Freddie Mercury---------------

This. Freddie Mercury has been a music-fashion icon for decades. In some chances, Adam Lambert admits that Freddie is one of his greatest inspirations. Beside the facts that Freddie is acclaimed to be the most influental rock singer ever and Adam is acclaimed to be the most skilled rock singer alive, both are similarly super fashionable too.

As for his style, Freddie is a legend to glamorous rock style. He was elegant and attractive. He had retroic (as for this age) edgy outfits and stage-costumes. He was theatrical (in a positive manner) and there was also a glance of avant-garde in his several apperances.

"I'm just a musical prostitute, my dear."

"Who wants to live forever?"

"I have fun with my clothes onstage; it's not a concert you're seeing, it's a fashion show."

"In the early days, we just wore black onstage. Very bold, my dear. Then we introduced white, for variety, and it simply grew and grew."

  2. Hahah, guyliner. Oh Adam Lambert...I want to see more of him! ^^
This was a great post - I really like the connection you made between music and fashion. Of course, for most singers / musicians, fashion is also a huge part of their image. Like with Adam Levine consistently keeping the slightly edgy and bad boy look, and well, Lady Gaga and her crazy outfits. They're very indicative of their personalities.

  4. The coat the first guy is wearing is pretty cool. Sadly Freddie is the only one of these three I know, but I do agree he will be in the annals of time, both as a performer and as a person, for years to come.

I agree that music inspire people's way to dress. There's a connection between music and fashion, one of my friend ever said to me, "hey your outfits look so britpop" hmm, britpop is a kind of music genre, right?

  19. Cool writing! Music and fashion are two things that stimulate each other. They're not necessarily always related, but when they are, you know how amazing that must be!
