I've rightfully preached too much things down this blog, through words and writings. Perhaps if you meet me in the literal life, I won't necessarily preach that much. Well, I always live by this line:
Verba volant, scripta manent.
It means "Words fly, written stays." Perhaps that is why my friends always find me more talkative through texting. Writing lasts longer than what's spoken by tongue. However, there's a line saying:
Verba docent, exempla trahunt.
This line generally means "Words instruct, illustrations lead." Whatever we speak or write, what we do is what actually and inevitably defines us.
This outfit post features the last set of outfit of the studio photo sets which I took together with my cousin, Jonathan Kristian, and Christa Graziella. You can find the first two posts here and not less true, here.
Suspenders are items which have the superpower to make an instant vintage connection between any outfit. Moreover, for me, suspenders are one of those few items that work for men better than they do for ladies. It is of course, arguably.
Folks usually weave a relationship between suspenders and preppy-romantic outfit. This time, I'd rather wildernize the country side they possess through the combination of my ripped (DIY) Levi's jeans and belt with Doctor Martens boots. A modest white stripped top coped well and the glasses had their own vintage relationship with the suspenders.
I've maximized the usage of my sole pair of boots (thinking of getting another pair, can someone recommend me any local store selling cheap stylish boots?) since the first time I got it, yet below is the first time I posted a detail look of the shoes.
Christa Graziella and my talented-learning photographer cousin down below (: (: (: (:

I don't think you've been preaching too much, don't worry about it. I think that sometimes the spoken word can last longer. Stories have survived since before the written language. Either way, as long as people continue to say something, to tell a story, by word or writing, it will live on.
ReplyDeleteomg the pic where it only shows your body and you're holding your suspenders is so pervertish, the gif is omg so cute too, you look so..nevermind. anyways, I love how VINTAGE(ahem) this outfit looks, the ripped levis probably looks better ripped, love the shades, perv!

Okay, this post change my perception. Your words at the beginning of the post is true, I agree with that. However, "written" doesn't always stay. Sometimes they "fly" too. You can't always count on what people say nor write. But, you can count on them once you have seen/realized their true character, the way they think, and their hearts.
ReplyDeleteYour writings always give me inspiration, keren deh, rajin baca buku literatur ya Josh? :)
that ripped jeans is really cool! mix it with leather jacket! mau liat apa hasilnya :p
